Latest Update- March 9, 2012

We have been busy getting ready for events and running them. Quizzing is over and we are now into the Games season, starting tomorrow in Maine and then in two weeks in NH.

Melanie is working full time in the hospital, and has since she graduated from nursing school. She is planning to go back next semester to get her BA in nursing while working full time, so she will be very busy. Our oldest son J.J. is in Qatar with the Air force, and he is supposed to be home the end of May and here to visit us in June. He has 4 years left to serve. Our middle son Josh is working for Securitas (a security company) and is still in the Maine National Guard, he has 2 years left to serve. Our youngest son Matt graduates this year and is planning to go to a semester at Kennebec Valley community College and then down to WV to Appalachian Bible College.

Prayer requests  right now are for the traveling that we are doing for the events, for good turnouts at them and good attitudes at them. Pray for Melanie as she gets back into school and Matt as he finishes high school and then begins college, for J.J. and his leave to be here for Matt’s graduation and to see all of our family who will be here visiting then, for Josh and his job- safety as he works midnights.

For the ministry, pray for the current club to be strengthened, for a new church in Wells that is looking to start yet this year and for our financial support as we have had a couple of churches drop Awana this year and we anticipate their dropping our support as well.

Ministry Background

We have been serving in Northern New England with Awana for ten years. Currently, our area covers the states of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Our purpose is to serve the churches by helping them with their children’s and youth ministries. We also present Awana to churches looking for an effective children’s ministry and train and stregnthen those churches using the Awana program.

Need

We need prayer partners to come along side those who are already praying for us on a regular basis. We also need $2800 additional support each month to meet our budgeted costs. We have consistantly run short of our budget goal which hinders us from doing the travel that is needed to adequately support the churches in our area. Please pray about your involvement as well as others to help with this need. If every Awana leader in our area would give $5 per month, the goal would be met. Pray that God would help people see how they can be a part of our ministry.

You can help is many ways, the first is to join the team of prayer partners we already have. You can do this by simply emailing us at jeffd@awana.org and  letting us know. A second way to help is to support us financially. Every gift we recieve helps us complete the ministry God has called us to here in Northern New England.
