Children's Church
Children’s Church allows children to have their own worship time during the morning service. Children in grades K-3 are dismissed midway through the morning service. They learn about God in a fun, supervised setting. This ministry allows parents to focus on the morning service without having to entertain their youngsters!

We offer Sunday School classes for children in Preschool through Adults.
Classes begin following the morning service and end at noontime.

“Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed”
I Timothy 2:15 (NIV)
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
When: Tuesday nights 6:15-7:45PM during the school year
Where: First Baptist Church, South Portland
Who: All kids, preschool-6th grade
What’s it all about? Awana is an international program designed to train kids to know God through his word, the Bible. Clubbers spend half of the time working on memory verses with a leader and half of the time playing cooperative games. Awana is a place for kids to form lasting Christian friendships and to connect with mentors who will help them study the word of God.

“Vacation Bible School” (VBS) 2012!
” Join us for Vacation Bible School this Summer! Like last year, we are opening July 16-20 up to Adults, teens, and children of all ages. While your children learn about God’s creation and why He made us, you will view and discuss a series of short videos focusing on the Christian World-view. And if you have teens, bring them along as well! We are presenting information that every person needs today, and you may not even know it yet. There will be refreshments for Adults and Teens as well as the kids! Come, have your questions answered by our qualified teachers! Is there any better time than now?
Registration will open each night at 5:45 and our evenings will go till 8:15. During this time, the kids will learn about Jesus and His creation, play great games with some awesome volunteers, and create interesting crafts and sing songs about our Creator and Savior. Please join us, and visit our facebook event page to let us know you’re coming!”
Parents, come join the fun and learn some new things that you can share with your children. You’ll have an opportunity to meet other parents with whom you can relate.
